Hello friends!
This is an open call for beta testers for our J2ME game, Father Joe.

- Demo test has 1 level of the 4 levels. - Supports MIDP 2.0/CLDC 1.0 and uses no vendor-specific code. - This version is for screens of 176 x 208 pixels and bigger.
General Details of the Game
- We have to control a priest (Father Joe) while he is ascending hierarchies as he completes each one of the four levels of the game.
- In order to complete each level, the priest has to fulfill the required targets, such as gathering certain amount of gold and to add followers to the church.
- The final aim is to be proclaimed as a Pope and to destroy the devil itself in the last battle.
- Father Joe travels the city converting lost souls. The diverse characters that he faces are: o Prostitutes o Gays o Thieves o Killers o Demons o Etc. All these characters increase their difficulty as we complete each level.
- To convert them, Father Joe shoots 2 types of weapons: o Cross: infinite quantity o Bible: bigger power and only 3 from the beginning of each level
- After some time, he is informed of acts that it should complete. These acts are activities like: o Baptisms o Marriages o Exorcisms o Blessing of Weapons o Donations o Etc.
To complete them, he must run against time and enter into the limits of the corresponding building (a church, a factory, etc) indicated by an arrow. Each of these actions adds or subtracts our gold, followers and energy.
- As a heaven help, Father Joe can pick up many icons spread out the streets. Here are some of them: o Chalice: it increases its energy o Rosary: an extra Bible o Angel: shield o Candle: + gold o Saint's Image: + followers o Stone Tables: separates waters to get to extra resources.
- Father Joe has energy that vanishes when he is shot by his enemies. If it looses all his energy, you lose the level.
The most important feedback I can receive is information on:
1) Your model phone. 2) Was the game understandable/easy-to-play? Rate from 1 to 10. 3) What was your FPS? 4) Are the melodies listened? One for the menu and another in the game. 5) Did you finish the demo? 6) And of course... bugs!
Any doubt that you have, please consult it to me.

Thank you mr_ou and aclelland for the tests. I am waiting for new tests, to improve or to correct the bugs.
aclelland, I understand that this game can make people to be offended... and it is not something for what I will begin a discussion. I only want to clarify that the characters are seen through the Father's eyes Joe, and not of mine. And... yes, my native language is Spanish, so surely there is some error in the text.

MotoV550 - ran at 5~8 fps for about a minute, then crashed with OutOfMemory (actually turned off the phone! That's a first).
Watch out for the classic "Sound OFF" interface problem (whereby one doesn't know whether clicking the button will "turn sound off" or if the "sound is off"). I recommend "Sounds are off" or something like that.
I also recommend you take gays off your list of enemies.

I tested on Nokia 7370. It works, but the transparency of the buildings doesn't seem to work, or something like that, so the buildings are displayed in a wrong way...
9 FPS. I did not finish the demo and had to test it without sound.
A suggestion is to put a screen with the option to turn the sound off before it starts playing.
But, anyway, you will certainly go to hell after publish this game

Sound played on my K1...but as mentioned: a choise before start playing the tunes would be good.
FPS around 7.
It kept on crashing while doing actions. I was able to walk around (I like the graphics!) and enter building. As soos as I try to throw crosses or bibles, most of the time the game stand still forever (sound still playing).
So I could not finish the demo

Thanks bandler!
I observe that Moto all present exceptions by out of memory in a moment or another... I believe that it is a problem without solution for some of those models, considering the structure of the game. I was already optimizing to the maximum the load of images in memory and exceptions take place even this way. I am developing a version with smaller graphics, in order to liberate more memory and to diminish their fragmentation. For sure next week I request you a new test again

Haha, i love that game. It's way better (and also less serious) than any of the bible games i've seen so far (haven't played one of those though).
If gay kissing in bully caused a stir in some religious groups, it's normal for games like this to do have the same effect on other groups.
The gay men / drag queens are looking hilarious, and whores hurting the priest with hearts - there's a deep message there 
To your game: I had problems with the controls, i wanted to use 1/3/7/9. Also there was no way to go into an ingame help without loosing the progress - didn't know how to use the bible. The game finished after some time (why? didn't get it) and i didn't have enough souls & money. This game needs to explain itself a bit more to the user.
F2 should not be labelled exit (i expected the game to close) but something like menu.
1) SonyEricsson W850i (240x320) 2) 5 (see above - controls and how to get money/followers) 3) 10-11 4) can't say 5) yes, i lost and i don't know why it ended... (i needed 100$ and 400 more souls) Is there a time limit somewhere? I wasn't shot down. 6) one minor: If you press exit during the game, the main screen will be painted after the next key press
